Five small Lorcana collections worth exploring

A complete expansion is a big project. A handful of related cards can make an equally satisfying binder page. These five ideas give you a clear starting point and a finish line of your own.

1. The five Dalmatian Puppy illustrations

Dalmatian Puppy – Tail Wagger from Into the Inklands has five artwork variants, numbered 4a–4e/204. Start with one of each illustration. If you enjoy matching finishes, choose regular or foil copies for the whole group.

Check the letter after the collector number when comparing listings: the shared name alone won’t identify the illustration you need. A five-card checklist helps avoid buying the same puppy twice.

2. Mickey’s puzzle-exclusive printing

The Glimmers of the Realm 1,000-piece puzzles include a Mickey Mouse – True Friend glimmer-foil promo. The puzzle series has six ink-themed designs; each includes the same named promo.

This is a one-card collecting project with an unusual origin. Look for the puzzle promo specifically, since other cards share the name. If you also want the puzzle, compare the complete product with a standalone promo listing.

3. The gold-backed Deep Trouble cards

Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble has a separate 31-card numbered collection with the Q1 set marking. Its gold-backed cards include Anna – Ensnared Sister, Bruno Madrigal – Unspeakable Seer and Prince Eric – Grim Groom.

These belong to the cooperative Ursula scenario and aren’t cards for ordinary competitive decks. For collecting, the distinct backs and sinister character versions make a cohesive theme. Use the numbered checklist when buying a group: a game deck can contain duplicates.

4. Six Disney100 artist-signature promos

The Disney100 Collector’s Edition brings together Mickey Mouse – Friendly Face, Elsa – Gloves Off, Genie – Powers Unleashed, Stitch – Abomination, Maleficent – Uninvited and Maui – Demigod.

Each has alternate artwork, a special foil treatment and a printed artist signature. These are facsimile signatures, not individually hand-signed cards. Choose a favorite first, or make the six-card collection your goal.

5. A TaleSpin page from Into the Inklands

Start with Don Karnage – Prince of Pirates, Wildcat – Mechanic and Kit Cloudkicker’s three versions: Tough Guy, Navigator and Spunky Bear Cub. Add the other TaleSpin characters and related items if you want a larger project.

A franchise collection lets you choose your own boundaries. Decide whether you want characters only or the associated items and actions too, then keep that checklist beside your binder.
